Female Urinary System

The female urinary system consists of:

• Kidneys: Similar function as in males, filtering blood and producing urine.
• Ureters: Transport urine from the kidneys to the bladder.
• Bladder: Stores urine until it is expelled.
• Urethra: A shorter tube that carries urine outside the body, located just above the vaginal opening.

Key Differences

• The male urethra is longer and serves dual functions (urine and semen), while the female urethra is shorter and only transports urine.
